don't really know how to start this or put this in an ordered or cohesive order...oh well! i'm a black neurodivergent trans woman with a disabilty... (carpal tunnel, probably) and i have a huge passion for any type of art. i've been taking drawing seriously for three years and i've been practicing music for one. i was raised on the internet and i spend most-all of my time on it. i want to learn every creative skill under the sun. i have a fondness for boomer-shooters and oldschool edm. i consume a lot of art, i'm a lazy bum (working to change this), and usually sleep deprived.
i began making art on my computer (not that ai bullshit get out of here) through textmode! it's basically pixel art using tilesets! polyducks has this nice blurb on it which goes over it in an extensive manner (he's also quite the artist himself, truth be told, he was one of the main inspirations for me when i was doing that type of art!) eventually i did that for like, i don't know– a year? and i started drawing with mouse using. during this time, louie zong was a big inspiration to me eventually i gave in and asked my mother for a drawing tablet and a stylus. i could barely trace. i was garbage, but i grew! i've been drawing with a stylus since around 2022, and i've had the same pair ever since i've started, and i doubt that i'll ever trade them out unless they outright break.
technically i've been making art on the computer for way before 2022. my graphic design work (fucking around with photo editing software my entire life) spans back so far i can't think of a specifc year right now, but that story's much less interesting and consists almost entirely of "i wanted to be a youtuber so i needed to learn how to make my personal graphics" with the occasional "i love shitposting". but yeah, art is a big part of my life and it's the sickest thing i've ever experienced in bein' a human.
now my music journey is less expansive but since i find it important to me, i'm gonna go over it anyways! i've ALWAYS wanted to make music, like my entire life. i imagined myself playing some type of instrument all the time when i was younger... can't say i've mastered any (or even have learnt how to consistently play any) but i have a good deal of fun fuckin' around with a variety of music making software on my computer. i started out with ultrabox, a fork of beepbox, and made a variety of tunes, ranging from "it's alright" to "absolutely ass", which is to be expected when you're just starting out.
the main thing that inspired me was this one part at the end of "goin in" by 2 mello. something about this spoken word spoke to me in such a significant way. i don't think i can put it any better way than he did, honestly. so, i just had to keep making music. i've been doing it since 2024 and i plan to never stop. i've released a few tracks, and i make stuff that i don't release all the time! it's been an absolute blast and i'm so fortunate to have chosen this path to go down.
i'm a firm believer in the fact that anyone can do art. and that everyone should. talent is not real, you don't have to be 'gifted' or some other bullshit. you literally just have to try. and there's i don't see any reason why you shouldn't. it's good for the soul. please, just make something.
